Consultation appointments require no different preparation to a normal dental check‑up. For treatment appointments, please have a light meal a few hours before treatment.
Depending on the complexity and microbiology, root canal treatment can take 1–3 appointments, which can be up to 120 minutes each.
Despite its reputation, with modern anaesthesia the vast majority of root canal procedures are completely painless.
It is normal for a tooth to feel a little sore for a few days after treatment, but in general it is nothing that a standard over‑the‑counter painkiller cannot handle.
